First and foremost 'Pretty Penny' is an idiom or an expression. If something costs a pretty penny, it's expensive. I originally thought of my blog name, Pink Pennies, six years ago but I did absolutely nothing with the blog.

Even though I like to buy nice things quite frequently I shop smart (there is an art to shopping you know). I'm a single mom (technically) and I have a full-time job probably like some of you. Until I find this mythical money tree and plant that bad boy out back I need to make wise decisions financially to be able to provide for mine and to obtain a few of my goals. So there you have it - I am a self proclaimed "baller on a budget".
